I am extremely honored to write this letter to recognize an outstanding person and highly-skilled doctor, Dr. Rachel Spieldoch.
I was referred to McDowell Mountain Gynecology by my Urologist. My first appointment was with Dr. Hartzfeld, who thoroughly reviewed my CAT scan from the Urologist. She ordered bloodwork and a pelvic MRI. lt was determined from those results that I needed immediate surgery and it would be performed by Dr. Spieldoch. Although there was a pandemic at the time, and all non-essential surgeries were canceled, Dr. Spieldoch risked it all to perform my surgery. My surgery was successful.
Eight days after my surgery, I started to experience excruciating abdominal pain. I was transported by ambulance to the hospital, where it was determined that I was experiencing an internal bleed that required immediate surgery. Even though it was late at night, Dr. Spieldoch was called and came in to perform the surgery. At the hospital, Dr. Spieldoch provided great comfort and reassurance to me. The surgery kept her at the hospital until well after midnight. After the surgery, Dr. Spieldoch took the time to call my husband and give him the results. Once again, I felt that I was in capable hands during a scary and uncomfortable time.
During my four days in the hospital, Dr. Spieldoch continued to visit me in the hospital and check on my progress. She also stayed in touch with my husband, who could not be at the hospital during the pandemic. Dr. Spieldoch was reassuring for both me and my husband.
From my first visit to this office, I felt the entire staff at McDowell Mountain Gynecology to be professional, thorough, and kind. I'm so glad that I put my trust and confidence in Dr. Spieldoch. Not only is she highly skilled as a surgeon, but she also has a great ability to listen to all questions and fully explain everything in an easy to understand manner. I want to thank Dr. Rachel Spieldoch for all that she has done for me.
